You get this error message in any of the Wings
CDs (the xxx will reflect the specific CD).
Change the video driver to the standard SVGA 640

256:
In Win 3.11:
go to Main\ Windows\ Setup
click on Options\ Change System
Settings
hit the scroll button on the display box
and scroll to SVGA 640 x 480 x 256

The CD-ROM drive may not support autorun
(plug-n-play). Setup and Go gives this error.
Some Micron systems do not come with an autorun CD-ROM
drive. To check:
go to My Computer\ Properties\ System\
File System\ Virtual Memory
check 32-bit access

Q:
How do I resolve the error: "WINGS caused a general
protection fault in module XCMDRVI.DLL"?
A:
This has been found to occur when there is a Logitech
scanner on the system. Remove the Xerox Color Manager
from the startup group. This will get Wings running,
but the scanner may not function properly without the
color manager running. There are several options
available to you:
Call Logitech and request updated drivers
for the scanner.
Create a bootdisk or mulit-config
boot that has an option to not load the
scanner.
Rename the DLL when you want to use
the WINGS CDs.

Wings CDs will not perform properly on a
compressed drive or partition, so if compression is
present, try installing on a noncompressed drive

Q:
How do I resolve an "Application Error: Wing64E3
caused a general protection fault In Module
DHIO_DH.QTC"?
A:
This error is due to more than one installation of
QuickTime for Windows. You need to check for previous
installations and remove them, then install QuickTime
2.0. To do this, run the setup of QuickTime for
Windows:
go to Program Manager
select File\ Run
type d:\qtinstal\setup (be sure to
type the drive letter of the CD-ROM
drive)
select ok. This will run the setup
of QuickTime for Windows.
select local and click ok
select remove every time it is available
If either the setup of QuickTime cannot remove the
previous version or the software still does not
work:
go to DOS (exit Windows or restart in DOS mode).
search the drive for QTW files by
typing at the prompt: DIR *.QTC /S
go to the directory where the files are
change the properties: ATTRIB -R -H -S *.*
then delete the files
At the prompt, repeat the above steps for DIR QT*.DLL /S.
Reinstall QuickTime:
select Start\ Run\ Browse
go to the CD drive
go to D:\QTINSTAL\SETUP.EXE (make
sure that you use the correct letter to
indicate your CD-ROM drive)

Some Discovery Multimedia titles will run on Windows
NT. However, they have not been designed for Windows NT
or tested on that platform. Unfortunately, we do not
have information on Windows NT or solutions for
problems you may experience while operating the
software in Windows NT. Technically, they are not
supported on Windows NT, but they should run.
