A: Try disabling the Windows 95 AutoRun feature.

Q: When I try to run the game I get an error "XTRE9AC8 caused a general protection fault in TAPIPKB3.DRV." How do I resolve this error?

A: Change your display to SVGA 640 x 480 at 256 Colors:
In Windows 3.x:
  •  
  • go to Main
  •  
  • choose Windows Setup\ Options\ Change System Settings
  •  
  • scroll to and select SVGA 640 x 480 x 256

    In Windows 95:
  •  
  • select Start, Settings, Control Panel
  •  
  • in the Control Panel: select display, then settings tab
  •  
  • click on the color palette and choose 256 colors
  •  
  • If you do not have that as an available choice then you'll need to click on change display type or change adapter type.
  •  
  • Change the display driver to either your supported video card driver or to MS SVGA 256 color driver.

    A: Check your virtual memory and make sure it is set to permanent:

    Q: My system meets the requirements but the game just runs slowly or cuts out. What can I do?

    A: It could be that your system, although meeting requirements, may have problems. The following steps might help:

  • run ScanDisk and Disk Defragmenter, under Accessories\ System Tools in Windows 95
  •  
  • check for a build up of temporary files
  •  
  • delete and reinstall the game

    A: Check the disk to confirm that you have the correct platform. If you have the correct platform:

  • place the CD in its drive
  •  
  • go to File Manager or Windows Explorer

  • click on your CD-ROM drive

  • double-click on the setup.exe file

    Q: How do I keep the sound from cutting out when I try to run the program?

    A: Try deleting and reinstalling QuickTime.

  • open system folder and drag QuickTime icons to the desktop

  • restart the computer
  •  
  • drag QuickTime icons to the trash and empty it
  •  
  • place the CD in its drive and double-click on the CD icon on the desktop
  •  
  • close the window
  •  
  • double click the CD icon again
  •  
  • open the system extensions folder
  •  
  • drag the QuickTime and QuickTime power-plug icons from the extension folder on the CD to the system folder on the hard drive. It will then install QuickTime.
  •  
  • restart and run game
